Who teaches at Rehmke studio?
Matthew Rehmke is the studio founder and has been a public elementary music teacher for over 20 years! He started taking piano lessons when he was 10 years old - around 40 years ago. He has taught piano to all ages of students, from age 4 to 80.
He attended Columbia Basin College with music scholarships and earned his AA degree. His primary music studies were with Dave Cazier. Later, he attended EWU with music scholarships and earned his BA degree. He studied with Lisa Campos, Margaret Brink and Jody Graves. He then began teaching in the Kennewick School District and was an adjunct piano instructor at CBC.
Music continues to be a passion of Mr. Rehmke. He knows the power of music, not only when listening, but also in learning. Music has been shown to reduce anxiety, improve reading, build confidence and be fun!
Sarah Rehmke is married to Matthew. She also has a passion for music and can play: guitar, piano, trombone and she sings. She keeps the Rehmke household running and is a substitute teacher for Kennewick School District.
Ryan Rehmke is a junior who loves to play saxophone. Watch out! He also likes to wrestle and pole vault and run cross country! If you have a young student who wants to learn the basics of playing the saxophone, Ryan is happy to help.
Samuel Rehmke is Sarah and Matthew’s youngest child. Though young, he is a very accomplished cellist. As much as he loves playing, he loves encouraging and teacher others even more!
